Submandibular Gland Excision
When sialoendoscopy has failed or in the case of tumors or chronic infection of the submandibular gland an exicison of the gland must be performed. It is always done under general anesthesia. Usually one has to spend 1-2 nights in hospital to monitor the volume of the drain. The incision line is normally done in a skin crease so to limit the appearance of a scar.
