Septoplasty
A setoplasty is when a deviated septum is surgically corrected. It does not change the appearance of the nose (rhinoplasty). It is always done under general anesthesia. It can be done primarily to open the nose or when nose bleeds are present or as part of key hole sinus surgery to create more space for the instrumentation. Nasal packing is often inserted after the operation for a brief period.
