Eustachian Tube Dilation
If you experience intermittent blocked ears, a feeling of fullness and an inability to equalise – your Eustachian tube might be blocked. With a Eustachian tube dilation a balloon is inserted through the nose, then into the tube and inflated for a brief period of time (1-2 minutes). It is then removed in total so nothing is left behind. This procedure can be done under local or general anesthesia but always in a theatre setting.
First in Africa: Eustachian Tube Dilation in the awake patient, using a local anaesthetic protocol.
