Septal Deviation
Septal deviation is a common finding that does not always need correction, but if the following symptoms are present one might want to seek medical advice: blocked nose not responding to medical treatment like that used for allergic rhinitis, nose bleeds, recurrent sinusitis, problems with smell and difficulty breathing during sleep or exercise. A septoplasty is diagnosed by performing a naso-endoscopy or a CT scan. If indicated a septoplasty will be performed to straighten the septum. Often turbinoplasty is performed at the same time.
