Anosmia
Anosmia (Inability to smell) – Often a lost of smell also causes a patient to perceive a loss of taste. The causes range from blockage of the nose (so the particles cannot reach the smell centre), nerve damage (after trauma or and viral infection) and in rare cases the problem might be in the brain.
The ENT will start with a nasal endoscopy but most cases will need a CT scan.
